Growers' Series FAQs

This Series will feature a presenter (or two) and video(s) in Part One and a Q&A with the presenter and cooking demonstration in Part Two. You'll be able to email your questions to us during the break, or ask them live during the Q&A.

How Long are the Classes?

Classes will be divided into two parts:

Part One:  6:30~7:10 (under 45 minutes so those with

free Zoom accounts won't time out)
          10-minute break
     Part Two: 7:20~7:55 (or less)

Please note there will be no class September 8, 2020 (day after Labor Day)

How Do I Participate or Watch?

All classes will be live on Zoom at 6:30 pm, Tuesday nights. We’ll email you a meeting link and directions the day before each class and suggest you sign in by 6:25. To be sure to receive our emails, please place the following email address in your contact list: you don't receive youremail, please check your junk or spam folder.

You can get a free copy of Zoom by going here and clicking the word "download" under "Download a Zoom Client"

Please do so well before the day of the first class and use our Contact form to email us with any problems getting started.

For those who don't use/or don't want to use Zoom, or who miss a class, we will record each class and email all participants a private YouTube link the following day.

What if I have to miss a class?

We will make our YouTube recording of the class available to you the next day.

What are the Class Samplers?

These are boxes or bags of the ingredients discussed in a given class so you can experience what's being discussed. Some, like our Apple Pie in a Bag, will contain everything you need (including the pan!) to make and bake a pie except for a highly perishable ingredient like butter/substitute butter. Recipe cards will be included. You'll need an oven or toaster oven.

Is there a deadline for ordering Samplers?

Samplers must be ordered at least 5 days prior to the beginning of the Series or a given class. The earlier you order them, the more likely you'll get one.

How do I get the Samplers?

If you live in the San Ramon Valley (San Ramon, Danville, Alamo or Diablo) or in Dublin or Pleasanton, our volun-teers will drop the Sampler on your doorstepthe day of the class. You'll receive a notice a day ahead so you can plan for this and leave an ice chest or insulated bag on your porch.

If you live outside our volunteer delivery zone, we will arrange a pick-up time and place with you ahead of time by email.

Who can reserve Samplers?

Everyone who registers for the Series or a given class may reserve the optional Sampler(s).

Because the Samplers contain natural and sometimes donated ingredients, we might have a limited supply and will distribute them on a first-ordered/first delivered basis. If you pay for a Sampler and we can't provide one, we will issue you a refund for the cost of the Sampler.

If I don't sign up for a class can I order a Sampler for that class?

Sorry, because Sampler supplies might be limited, we can only offer them to those registered for each class.

What if I don't want a Sampler?

That's fine, they are ordered separately from the classes.
