Work Day in the Orchard
Monday Nov 2, 10 am to 3 pm (2 shifts available or all day)
Mudd's Orchard, 105 Park Place, San Ramon
Buzz Bertolero ("The Dirt Gardener" of TV and radio) will be our Captain and a San Ramon Boy Scout Troop will be joining us to get the Orchard ready for winter. We need some expert gardener team leaders to work with small groups of Scouts and/or adult volunteers.
Jobs will include pruning, trimming, cutting back, and clearing out under the trees in the Orchard and Demonstration Gardens and wheeling materials to the compost area or trash. Normally a small group of volunteers does this weekly but this year they have had to give up their joyful jobs for Covid's sake, so the gardening chores have gone undone.
Sign up by October 30 to join us if you are a Boy Scout or have gardening skills, want to help garden, have a strong back, or are willing to help with sign-in and tool check-out/check-in.
Shifts are 10-12 and 1-3. Those who work both shifts get a free lunch!
You must register in advance and sign our waiver to participate (see below). We're hoping for a beautiful autumn day in this magical garden. If you have questions, there's a space at the end of the form and we will get back to you the same day if possible.
Please note: If you get a 404 or 504 error when you click submit, your form probably went through (our website provider is having trouble). We will try to confirm within two hours, so don't submit again unless you don't hear back from us. Expect an email from: firstname.lastname@example.org (it might end up in your spam/junk folder.) You can write us if you are unsure whether the form went through.
